Hello, dear Mary. Thanks for your question. I want to share some lovely Graham wisdom in my answer. As you know, he’s a prodigiously wordy prophet, so I’ll provide half the answer today and the rest next week.
‘Beloved’ is an identity statement. All the posts are intended to speak to the real you, to your true identity. This is what God sees and recognises when He smiles at you. If you have been placed into the Beloved, you are the Beloved. Eph 1:6 Understanding your identity is critical to receiving your inheritance from the Lord because all that is His is now yours. He is making you into His image. Gen. 1:27. Your behaviour will reveal who you believe yourself to be and whether you live in your ‘state’ or your ‘standing’.
Here is an extract from Episode 5 of The Art of Thinking Brilliantly by Graham Cooke.
‘…There is a difference between your state and your standing. Your state is how you see yourself outside of Christ. We often see ourselves as weak, powerless, incapable, inadequate, victims, etc. Your standing is who you are in Christ in your truest identity. You are strong, you are powerful, and you are favoured, accepted, beloved, and anointed.
In our state, our emotions are overwhelmed by negativity. They get caught up in those mental filters through which we look at our world. In our standing, Jesus’ passion for us empowers our emotions as we understand how He thinks of us. So joy and rejoicing are on the table 24/7, even in our sleep…In Christ, we are aligned with the Father’s perception of Jesus in us…Heaven is attracted to us, the kingdom wraps around us, and all the permissions of God are yes and amen in Jesus. So in Christ, we keep all our thinking inside the boundaries of God’s love, His grace, His kindness, His mercy…’
Accepting that you are His beloved is your agreement with God. Your ‘state’ is about the old and the dead. Your ‘state’ mindset says I can’t, but your ‘standing’ mindset says I can.
Your ‘standing’ is what the Father says about you; His opinion is the only one that matters.
