Who do You want to be for me now?
Have you been looking at a challenging relationship or circumstance? Has looking helped? When you need an answer, pause for just a moment. Be sure you are asking the right question, and you are asking the right Person.
Your starting place will determine your outcome. You are in Christ, so your starting place is always the nature of God. Who is He in this situation, and how does He see it? Who will He be, for you, in the middle of it?
Your Saviour and Lord will be precisely who you need Him to be. (Isaiah 41:10)
Your Redeemer will draw out of you the strengths He has placed in you for this time and this experience. Beloved, He will use every circumstance in your life to move you closer to being the version of you He sees every time He looks at you. He has already provided everything you need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3). Now He can show you how to access and use it.
Your good Father knew this day was approaching, and He prepared a way through. He has promised to go before you into every circumstance of your life, to be with you, to never forsake you (Deut. 31:6). As well as going before you into the events of the day, He has placed favour and provision there to meet your need. (2 Corinthians 9:8). He is magnificently generous. In the Kingdom, you live in the place of a provision that has already been given to you. Be outrageously thankful.
Don’t be discouraged if the answer He gives you involves a process of discovery, and the process takes longer than you had expected. He works gently because he is tender with our frailties. You will have the delight of slowly walking with Him into a new and lovely place where you find yourself becoming a kinder, braver, sweeter, wiser you than you ever suspected you could be.
